Who are the faces behind the IMILUX project? Quem são as pessoas por trás do projeto IMILUX?
Dr Ana Carolina Santos is a research scientist at the University of Luxembourg and principal investigate of the IMILUX project. She holds a PhD in Basic Psychology from the University of Minho. Her research focuses on migration and aging, non-pharmacological interventions for aging, cognitive aging and cognitive neuroscience
A Dra. Ana Carolina Santos é cientista investigadora na Universidade do Luxemburgo e investigadora principal do projeto IMILUX. Tem um doutoramento em Psicologia Básica pela Universidade do Minho. A sua investigação centra-se na migração e envelhecimento, intervenções não farmacológicas para o envelhecimento, envelhecimento cognitivo e neurociência cognitiva.
Prof. Dr. Anja Leist is Full Professor in Public Health and Ageing and Vice-head of the Institute for Research on Socio-Economic Inequality (IRSEI) in the Department of Social Sciences.
A Prof.ª Dr.ª Anja Leist é Professora em Saúde Pública e Envelhecimento e Vice-diretora do Instituto de Investigação sobre Desigualdade Socioeconómica (IRSEI) no Departamento de Ciências Sociais.
Dr Juliana Ferreira joined the IMILUX project at the University of Luxembourg in November 2024. She holds a PhD in Neurosciences, focusing on functional and cognitive recovery following brain injury, with a special interest in cognitive aging.
A Dra. Juliana Ferreira juntou-se ao projeto IMILUX na Universidade do Luxemburgo em novembro de 2024. Tem um doutoramento em Neurociências, com foco na recuperação funcional e cognitiva após lesão cerebral, tendo um interesse especial no envelhecimento cognitivo.
Dr Fabiana joined the University of Luxembourg in September 2025 as part of the IMILUX project, led by Dr. Ana Carolina Teixeira-Santos. She holds a PhD in Basic Psychology, with a specialization in Human Memory, obtained in January 2019 from the University of Minho, Portugal. Previously, she contributed to the CRISP project, led by Prof. Dr. Anja Leist at the University of Luxembourg, where she focused on gender inequalities in cognitive ageing and examined differences in the prevalence of memory impairment across Latin America and the Caribbean, with particular attention to temporal trends and associated risk factors.
A Dra. Fabiana juntou-se à Universidade do Luxemburgo em setembro de 2025 como parte do projeto IMILUX, liderado pela Dra. Ana Carolina Teixeira-Santos. É doutorada em Psicologia Básica, com especialização em Memória Humana, grau obtido em janeiro de 2019 na Universidade do Minho, Portugal. Anteriormente, contribuiu para o projeto CRISP, liderado pela Prof.ª Dra. Anja Leist na Universidade do Luxemburgo, onde se dedicou a investigar desigualdades de género no envelhecimento cognitivo e analisou diferenças na prevalência de défice de memória na América Latina e nas Caraíbas, com particular atenção às tendências temporais e aos fatores de risco associados.
